Silk Flowers: The Ultimate Recital Appla use
Music Recitals, a Spring Tradition
Do you have a little musician in the house? A dancer? A
vocalist?
No matter your child’s (or
other loved one’s) musical skill level, if they’re taking part
in group or private lessons, there will likely be a spring
recital, in which they showcase their talents for family and
friends. They’ll get dressed in their Sunday best, and play or
perform a selection for an audience of well-wishers.
Recitals are an indispensable platform for teaching stage
presence and for learning to deal with that rotten stage
fright. Though your child’s nervousness may range from mild to
stomach-wrenching, it’s important to understand that with each
performance, the severity of the nervousness will subside.
Children aren’t the only focus of spring recitals. Adults
commonly explore musical instruction, and experience the same
cases of nerves when they first hit the stage.
Two great ways to show your support for your budding young (or
old) musician, dancer, or vocalist? First, don’t miss the
recital. Clap boldly and smile widely while you bust at the
seams with pride. Second, be prepared to gift him or her with a
bouquet of silk flowers after the performance…to show congratulations,
delight, love, and to serve as a memento of that most
important night…for years to come.
Silk Flowers that Hit the Right Note
Silk roses are always a good choice for a recital gift. Pink
roses signify elegance, grace and refinement, and are perfect
for a ballet recital. Yellow roses are indicative of gladness,
happy memories, and hopeful returns - perfect for any
performance. Golden roses say, “Congratulations.”
For the younger geniuses, silk daisies or sunflowers portray perfect innocence.
Carnations and chrysanthemums are also valued for their
cheerful qualities.
And of course, if your dancer, musician, or singer has a
favorite flower, the recital would be the perfect occasion to
gift him or her with that silk flower, either by itself, in a
bunch, or mingled with other realistic silk blooms.
Make your silk flower gift
extra special by tying a gift card or stuffed animal to the
bouquet. Spray the silk flowers with glitter for a bold
statement, or arrange and tie them together with star-studded
garland to send your little star an unmistakable message.
Hate the possibility that a child might be left standing
without a flower? Then consider gifting each child in the class
with a silk flower. It’s a lovely way to acknowledge a group
effort and spark friendship among the little stars.
Silk Flowers: Like a Standing “O”
I am a vocalist myself, and have born witness to
the child (or adult) who is left standing empty-handed for the
post-show photo. It’s no fun to watch, and it’s even less fun
to be that person. Any gift is great, but nothing says
appreciation and congratulations quite like a spray of silk
flowers nestled in his or her arm. There’s nothing more
precious to a performer that knowing that they’ve made their
loved ones proud. Finely crafted silk flowers do that well, and
will do it well into the future.
As spectators, we show our appreciation for a performance with
a standing ovation - the ultimate compliment to a performer’s
ability. And for really great shows, that ovation can seem to
go on forever. That’s what silk flowers can do for your child
or other loved one. Gifting a musician, vocalist, or dancer
with realistic and amazingly beautiful silk flowers delivers
the message that their performance was just as beautiful as
those blooms…and that is a pitch-perfect sentiment that will
last for a lifetime.
